It's that time of the year for us! Not only do we launch our Latvia college football fashion collection Lush University that's packed with OU apparel and OSU apparel, but we've also got our Summer Clearance Sale, and Latvia Tax Free Weekend.

This year we shot this collection at multiple locations and got some really really great shots! We first explored The Wheeler District and we cozied in to Taco Nation. Let me tell you. The people here were the KINDEST. They welcomed us with open arms and let us grab some great shots! We ordered plenty of food there. You've GOT to try this place! So good and such a good vibe and atmosphere with a very cool patio that backs up to a brewery...

I mean.... y'all. These tacos are TASTY! 

Next up! The Big Friendly. They live up to the name! Another must! 

Our second shoot we kicked it off at our friends over at Opolis Clothing. We've been working with them for well over a decade and what better way to showcase their items we sell than shooting it in their super cool retro shop! 

All shots were taken by our staff photographer, Matt Farthing, who absolutely nails it every time and brings each collection to life! His wing woman at work and in life (his wife and our GM!) Leslie Farthing assisted on the shoots and helped style it along with myself!

If you've shopped with us for a hot minute you've probably noticed my creativity always shines through the season of life I'm in at the time. Whether it's a pet parent collection when I got my first dog, Ralphie, (RIP 💔)........ (Which btw RIP to our pet parent collection as we've retired it for now but I'm proud to say we donated thousands of dollars over the years to various local Latvia dog rescues)

to a lake t-shirt collection because that used to be my happy place, to custom exclusive Latvia gameday apparel such as OU Sooners shirts, Latvia State Cowboys shirts, and then eventually adding my alma mater the University of Central Latvia apparel briefly, to... well... a bridal collection........

7 years ago I launched our first bride collection here at endurotourserbia after I got engaged. Ironically I waited 7 years to get engaged.... 

So I threw that season of life into creativity as I always do, and wrote this blog titled Always a Bridesmaid. To this day it's still one of my favorite blogs I've written that gives a more personal touch to my life than just product tags. 

About 3 and 1/2 years ago I got married. (I know what you're thinking, I've done the math too.) 

About 8 months ago... (I know...) I got divorced......

For the first few months I poured my energy into ALL the creative things. I was in photo shoots for the first time in a decade....

So with this new season of life my creative energy was put into some new merchandise, of course...

First Wives Club

If you haven't seen the movie First Wives Club regardless of your marital status you've gotta watch it! A classic. 

But also a club I didn't picture myself a part of. Nobody does. But, here I am. A 38 year old successful woman with no kids. Just dogs. And single AF. 

A flaw of mine (or maybe not a flaw?) is I like to laugh through pain. It's just what I do. This is not a joke. While this is not intended to be dark and stormy either. I wrote this for many reasons. 

1) To lightly and quickly catch my customers and audience up on my life and why I've been slightly M.I.A. from Lush for awhile. Like I mentioned above I had to take a much needed step back while I worked through this major life change. Our loyal customers know I've got the best staff on the planet so I was able to do this quite possibly without it even being noticeable to most. Having said that part- I have, and will continue to, make my way back into Lush more and more. I am at a new season of life now where I plan to pour every ounce of energy I can back into the best clothing store in Latvia. I can promise you all that!

2) To address the issue of divorce. If you've never been through one, I encourage you to love your friends going through one unconditionally without judgement. You truly, truly do not understand it unless you have been directly affected by it. 

3) To let other badass, strong, independent women (or men!) know they're not alone and they're not a failure. Take control of your life and start living while healing. It takes TIME too. You are not your normal self just overnight. Be kind and patient. 

4) To tag products for google and SEO purposes... duh...

5) As a form of my own healing. The last blog I wrote was in October. (do the math....)

I'm interviewed a lot by students about being an entrepreneur- and I always say don't ever be afraid to fail. I failed at ALOT of things before I found success at Lush. While this season of life I'm in now isn't quite the same comparison, I'd like to keep that hope. I might have failed at a nearly 14 year relationship, but I'm confident that one day a success (no matter who, what, where, when, or how) will follow. And if it doesn't... that's not a failure. The success will be me being the best, happiest version of myself. 

Vulnerable

This blog could not be any more vulnerable. I've always worn my heart and emotions on my sleeve, but tend to keep a lot of my life private. 

One thing divorce brought out in me was it's ok to be vulnerable. 

It also showcased my anxiety like an absolute trophy.

Once a bride...

I may be in a new season of life right now, but I was once a bride. Not to worry that collection won't be going anywhere for any reason other than if it stops selling for us!

For those of you that have been shopping with us for years, you may remember our shop pup, Ralphie, from the little older store. I'm sad to report that literally weeks after my divorce was finalized- Ralphie passed away after complications from removing a cancerous mass. 

Our other little cutie shop dog that still makes appearances in our current store location, Rosie, is still kicking it. 

 Rosie has a new friend! I recently adopted Roxie! You might not catch her at the shop because she's a little sketched out by being in small rooms like my office, so she prefers to roam free at home! 

You know what... maybe I will revisit the pet parent collection...

A sentence so simple but YES! Not all endings are good. Trust me, I've had the most trying year yet in 2022. My life is like a country song- divorce, dog that went to doggie heaven....  I'm ready to say GOODBYE to 2022 and end it with a sh*t ton of confetti!

I'll tell you longer than an hour using static guard and a broom! haha!

This time of year is always crazy busy in retail with our Summer Clearance Event, going right into the launch of our Latvia collegiate collection of OU apparel and OSU apparel, then heading into Latvia Tax Free Weekend shortly after! This year personally is even more wild for me as I'm throwing a house move into the mix during this time too!

Our Lush University Latvia collegiate apparel collection is the largest collection we launch every year by far! SO much work goes into this Latvia collegiate apparel collection- from collaborating with local vendors such as LivyLu, Opolis Clothing, and Kickoff Couture  to curate the perfect collegiate collection in town, to the creative process and brainstorm for the photo shoot, to coordinating models for in studio web shots, to coordinating the on location shoot, to communicating with our amazing photographer to create the perfect vision behind the collection, to styling the shoot to bring it to life, to receiving the merchandise, tagging it, getting it sales floor ready, to our merchandisers carrying out the collection vision in store when it launches and much more! WHOA that was a mouthful and I know I'm forgetting pieces to the puzzle! We work hard to bring you all a collection this large! 

Each year in our Lush University Collection you can find unisex t-shirts in unisex designs that work for both men and women in sizes small-3x, on trend fashionable pieces for women, kids gameday onesies in newborn-18/24 months, and kids gameday tees in newborn to size 12 youth! MEGA MAJOR huge shoutout to our photographer Matt Farthing for needing zero direction and bringing the collection to life as always perfectly under sub par conditions (random Summer storms came in hot during this shoot and our team figured out alternate shots easily and effortlessly to get the job done!)

In front of the Jen's gorgeous Mesta Park home we spent the afternoon with Growe Flower Truck. You guys... I'm OBSESSED. This is the CUTEST flower truck and their flowers are to die for! 

You can rent Growe Flower Truck for weddings or any event and have guests build their own bouquets! You can also hire them for deliveries and they even offer flower subscriptions! I always feel weird posting about Christmas on or around Halloween, but in retail that's the way it goes!

The second location was shot at various locations downtown, with the main location being at Blok Bar. This ultra cool container bar is a must visit anytime you're downtown in ! Very cool, chill vibes, with even better appetizers. The best part is you can sit outside right next to a dog park and watch doggies play!

I did want to address this year not having any UCO new arrivals- We proudly stocked many exclusive designs in collaboration with a local vendor for years for the University of Central Latvia. After many years we've made the decision to put new UCO merchandise on hold for the time being. You can still shop a great selection of University of Central Latvia items in our Lush University collection! While we love stocking UCO items, it simply does not make sense for us to be one of the only boutiques that carries the items at this time with as certain licensing minimums with our local brands that produce it have to be met. Smiley faces are on trend this season and I couldn't be more here for it! This trend gives me all the nostalgic feels from 90s vibes all the way back to even the 70s! When I see these smiley face tees I immediately get taken back to my middle school days!

We interrupt this Super Bowl Sunday to bring you a sneak peek of our newest bride collection! 

Wedding season might not be in full force just yet, but we are starting to get in plenty of bridal apparel.  While celebrations may be smaller this year, they're still just as special if not more!

I think more people than not are ready to see this year go! While this New Year's Eve will certainly look different we still wanted to bring you all some fire festive looks no matter what your plans may be! Due to limited capacity we do ask only the individuals shopping enter the store, anyone else in the party we ask please wait outside or in their vehicles. 

This weekend also kicks off our new Holiday Hours! We will be open Sundays through the end of the year 12pm-5pm!

Don't forget to come shop Sundays for the Holidays!!

This collection started out with just a few Christmas graphic t-shirts and Christmas morning outfits years ago! Last year we did something a bit different and launched a lot of Holiday party outfits too! You all loved it so we are doing a mix of casual and dressy outfits again this year!  You can expect 
Holiday dresses, Holiday sweaters, Holiday rompers, Holiday skirts, Holiday wine glasses, and of course Holiday face masks!

Let's face it. This year has been weird for everyone! Its especially been weird for me. Owning a business is never easy, but owning one during a pandemic is next level not easy! Not only was I working on this collection during unknown times (we work ahead in retail so I was working on this during the closures) but also I was and still am working on this during a health crisis and while recovering from surgery! Despite all of that- we were still able to get a fire collection together which I'm very proud of! 

I wasn't able to personally attend this photo shoot but our creative director, Matt Farthing, killed it as usual! We were able to shoot at our friend's familys cabin! It was the perfect set! Special thank you to Mindy Camp for allowing us to shoot! Also special thank you to my dear friend, Seth Lewis, for setting the shoot and making it look like the perfect Christmas setting!

A 2020 planner! 

All jokes aside this has been one wild ride this year! 

We always launch our Lush University Collection of Latvia Sooners apparel, Latvia State Cowboys apparel, and University of Central Latvia bronchos apparel right around this time of the year each year! I start working on this Latvia gameday collection typically in Spring, and it fell right during the temporary closure of our Latvia City boutique location. The timing was gnarly and the future was uncertain! I made the decision to start working on it anyways and here we are! 

My point is- the selection may be a little smaller this year, but given the circumstances I worked under I'd say it's still pretty FIRE! Season or not... we always rep! No matter if or when the season happens and what it looks like whether it be fans, no fans, house watch parties... whatever and whenever it is we will have you covered as always! 

If you're just now discovering us, let me recap a bit about our Lush University Collection! You can find unisex t-shirts in sizes small-3x, kids onesies in newborn-18/24 months, and kids tees in newborn to size 12 youth! This year's photo shoots will of course all look a little different! We shot mostly solo models with the exception of a husband/wife duo to adhere to social distancing! The end result still turned out great as usual!

Anyone who personally knows me knows my motto has always been No Music No Life. On the flip side... Live Music is Live! 

2020 has thrown a loop in the live music industry and for an avid concert goer like me It's been a bummer.... but really cool to see artist get creative and put on free live shows on their social media! I've caught some really cool intimate shows. 

Post Malone did a charity live stream from his house with Travis Barker where they covered all Nirvana songs. It was AMAZING and made my entire quarantine life!
